OJN FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN THE PAN-AFRICAN YOUTH UNION REGIONAL CONSULTATION ON THE REFORM OF NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCILS & REGIONAL YOUTH PLATFORMS – WEST AFRICA') }}

The OJN Foundation was duly represented at the First Pan-African Youth Union (PYU) Regional Consultation Meeting on the Reform of National Youth Councils and Regional Youth Platforms in West Africa, held in Abuja, Nigeria, on 26th November 2025.


Our organization was ably represented by the Director of Partnership, Miss Deborah Ojima Edoh, who joined youth leaders and council representatives from across the West African region for this crucial policy dialogue.


The session was led by the PYU President, Hon. Moumouni Dialla, alongside the PYU Vice President for West Africa, Amb. Oladele John Nihi, and the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Salah Eddine Bakor.


The consultation brought together Presidents and Chairpersons of National Youth Councils and Regional Youth Platforms to:


  • Review and analyze the current structures of National Youth Councils (NYCs)
  • Share best practices across member states
  • Develop a unified direction for reform, configuration, and harmonization of National Youth Coordinating Mechanisms
  • Examine the implementation level of the African Youth Charter and explore ways Youth Councils can better drive its operationalization across the continent
