Saturday’s event highlighted Ododo-led administration’s strides in education and youth development
Kabba, Kogi State — In a remarkable show of commitment to youth empowerment and academic excellence, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Student Matters, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, on Saturday graced the 2024 Speech and Prize Giving Day at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Kabba.
The event, which brought together parents, students, and dignitaries, served as a platform to celebrate outstanding student performances and to reflect on the progress of education in the state under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
In his remarks, Hon. Nihi commended the school’s management and staff for their dedication to shaping the next generation of leaders. He also conveyed Governor Ododo’s commitment to repositioning education across the state, noting that the administration sees young people as strategic assets to Kogi’s future.
As a gesture of encouragement, Hon. Nihi, through the Oladele John Nihi Foundation, awarded a cash donation of ₦100,000 to the best graduating students. The announcement was met with cheers and applause from the audience, particularly the students and their families.
The visit also reinforced the state government’s message of support for academic excellence and its willingness to collaborate with institutions like FGGC Kabba to nurture future leaders.
