Gov. Ododo Backs Youth Development in Kogi as Aide Launches OJN Youth Hub

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering young people and promoting inclusive development across the state.

This assurance was made known during the official commissioning of the OJN Foundation Secretariat and Youth Hub in Lokoja. Representing the Governor at the high-profile event was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, who delivered a powerful address on behalf of the administration.

Dr. Ayoade described the initiative as a landmark step towards equipping Kogi youth with the tools needed for leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She commended the founder of the OJN Foundation and Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, for his dedication to the cause of youth empowerment.

“Governor Ododo’s administration is firmly rooted in the belief that the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but active changemakers of today,” Dr. Ayoade stated. “This hub represents a platform for growth, mentorship, and transformation that aligns perfectly with our developmental agenda.”

The OJN Youth Hub, now located in the heart of Lokoja, is set to serve as a vital center for digital skills training, entrepreneurship development, policy dialogue, and mentorship. It aims to serve thousands of young people across the state, offering a conducive space for learning, collaboration, and capacity building.

Youth groups, civil society organizations, and government officials present at the event hailed the commissioning as a pivotal moment in the drive for youth inclusion and innovation in Kogi State.

With the launch of the OJN Foundation Secretariat, Kogi youths now have a new hub to dream, build, and lead — all backed by a state government that is prioritizing their future.
